I expected decent food at a cafe. I got great food, with all the perks you'd expect at a small-town diner. It's nothing fancy, but there's plenty of room and comfy seating. Service was excellent- friendly and fast. Not just for me; every interaction I saw was amazing. It's clearly a mom-and-pop place run with love. The menu is pretty basic breakfast and lunch fare. A lot looked good, but the sausage gravy drew me in. I ended up with the breakfast bowl- biscuit, hash browns, egg, cheese, sausage gravy. That could add up to anything, and be mediocre. Instead, each of the parts was great and they added up to a stellar meal. The biscuit was good (though it was pretty well buried in the other stuff.) The hash browns were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The eggs were perfectly scrambled. The gravy was thick and tasty. The cheese was shredded and melted on top. Everything was in proportion, and tasted good individually and together. I usually ask for hot sauce to pep up the taste of breakfast, but it wasn't needed. It was a massive portion, too. The hours are a bit early for me, but I will be back.
